Iran "nuclear state"

Hundreds of thousands of Iranians crowded Azadi Square in Tehran on Thursday (11 / 2), to commemorate 31 years of the Islamic revolution of Iran. In the warning, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad proclaimed that Iran is now a "nuclear state".

In his speech, Ahmadinejad announced that Iran had produced the first package of enriched uranium to the level of 20 percent. "The first package (enriched uranium) fuel has been produced 20 percent and given to scientists," he said.

Based on confidential documents issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran will begin to expand uranium with a higher level in the next few days.

Tehran wants to enrich uranium stated further as part of a plan to turn the research reactor provides medical isotopes for the hundreds of thousands of Iranians who were undergoing cancer treatment. However, the Western states, Iran is not able to turn the material into fuel rods that the reactor needed. West fear Iran wants it to enrich uranium to make nuclear weapons.

Ahmadinejad again insisted that Iran does not intend to make nuclear weapons and he also said that Western countries hinder true reform in Iran. "It's been 41 years they opposed the Islamic revolution, and they also impede the progress of this country," he said.
